THE TABLE IS FULL
and our hearts follow suite
almost in rebellion -
and the room expands its walls
so it can hold more
of our laughter.
Time holds its breath
trying its best
to help us savour it
but cannot shake
the weight of the truth.
It knows that whenever
this moment comes to an end -
it will always be
too soon.
